Leap Castle, Ireland
Do you have fascination for horror stories? Want to visit one such place that can bring Goosebumps on you body? Leap Castle in Ireland is just one such ideal places. Leap Castle is located in County Official, which is about four to five miles from the tom of Roscrea. The castle shares an amazing history and still whispers it to the visitors from all over the world. It might sound like a horror movie but the cause behind the mystic appearance of the castle is due to the heinous act of murder and blasphemy of a sacred mass. It is said that evil rests in the house and haunts who try to disturb them in some way.
This place is not for those who are weak at heart but the place is to be enjoyed by those who love to investigate and have a daredevil soul. The story of those castle travels back into the 15th century when the bloody battle of Chapel silenced the entire O’Carroll family of the powerful Irish Princes. In 1532, the battle for power resulted in the growth of rivalry between the brothers of O’Carroll family. Among the brothers who were engaged into the fight, one was a priest. And it was this brother who gathered a mass for the holy prayers for his family when the other rival brother dragged him into the chapel, while he was chanting his prayers, and killed him with a sword. The heinous crime committed by the cruel brother still echoes the story the O’Carroll family. The other members of the family were left to succumb to suffocation caused by the closed door.
The O’Bannon Clan was probably the first to purchase the Leap Castle. O’Carroll’s family however, came down after on. Leap castle was attacked several times. It was first attacked in 1513 by Gerald Fitzgerald though he did not take it later on. It faced attack again in the year 1516. But the Carroll’s were successful in the later attack of 1557. This went on for a long time unless the Leap Castle was purchased in 1970 by the Australian.
This person took active interest in the house and to change its elemental condition he brought a white witch from Mexico. She murmured her prayers and spoke loads about the spirits inside and the wishes of the spirits. The current owners of the castle purchased the castle from the Australian, in the year 1990. These people bought the castle despite of knowing about its troubled history. They believe that small incidents have also caused harm to them in several ways and also conveyed some strange information about the house. The house is now famous among the tourists not just because of the horrifying incidents but it also because of the dreaded history which is, however, not an exception amongst mankind.
There is no accommodation provided in this castle but you stay in the nearby hotels and enjoy a tour to this Leap Castle. Students of theosophical society also visit to this place to enhance their knowledge and make theoretical assessments.
